This installation was for a specialty metal stamping facility, with reel-to-reel stamping of electronic connector and other electronic metal substrates.  The stampings are contained on large reels of parts that are used in many different electronic applications.

The metal finishing required by the customers include the cleaning and plating of Copper, Nickel, Gold, Tin, and Tin-Lead to selected areas of the stampings.

It was decided to bring all metal finishing processes in-house to reduce downtime and costs, as well as improving product quality. After long consideration, a separate building was found to be necessary to provide the equipment to accomplish these goals.

SIRCO was brought to the initial discussions and provided guidance for the new building layout and chemical processing recycling. Following these discussions, SIRCO was given the challenge to provide not only a closed-loop water treatment system, but also provide all environmental permits required. These included: AQMD- Air Quality Management District, CUPA- Certified Unified Program Agency, Tiered Permitting for Permit by Rule for DTSC.

Sirco designed and delivered a state-of-the-art water treatment and recycle system including:

    • 25 GPM closed Loop Ion-Exchange System.
    • Waste Concentrate Treatment System
    • Gas Fired Atmospheric Evaporator System to concentrate wastes for haul-away.             Additionally, a Fume Scrubber was used to capture fumes from the plating lines and the             condensate from the Evaporator.
