SIRCO was requested to provide clean rinse water to the finishing operations. The line was plumbed to sumps and supplied to our CLRS-10 Ion Exchange recycle system. Appropriate pre-filtration, carbon and ozone treatments were employed to produce clean rinse water for re-use without sewer discharge, resulting in perfect parts and a reduction of wastewater discharge.
This System was designed with manual operation at the customer’s request, with SIRCO providing extensive training for the operators on the system functionality for successful recycling of specific wastewaters and proper resin regeneration techniques. The System was designed to recycle up to 70 GPM of spent process water containing various ionic contaminants including Hex and Trivalent chrome and cyanides.
This client hired SIRCO Industrial Inc., to build a complete wastewater recycling system with no discharge to sewer and air. The plating tanks were designed and built in accordance with recommendations by SIRCO to minimize water and chemical waste by efficient rinsing techniques. This allowed all final rinses to be recycled by Ion Exchange technology.
One of SIRCO’s offshore installations was in Seoul, South Korea. This was a very extraordinary installation, as the company is one of the largest reel-to-reel plating companies in Korea, requiring a highly specialized wastewater treatment System. This required a proprietary engineered regeneration method, allowing for the regenerant to be re-used a second time to minimize regenerant wastes.
SIRCO Industrial, Inc. was contracted to resolve issues causing wastewater discharge violations from the metal finishing operations. Specifically, the County Sanitation had sent violation notices for Cadmium and Cyanide violations. The progress to a completely closed-loop rinse water recycle system was accomplished in 2 stages.
The anodizing process generates a great deal of wastewater, especially in the final rinses, where hard water spots are not permissible. The operation required a team of laborers with towels to wipe each part to assure that the products were dry and without spots. SIRCO installed a high purity DI water recycling system including all regeneration and transfer tanks and pumps to provide excellent DI water for the final rinses
The System utilized a state-of-the-art PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) to control the Flow, Total gallons, TDS, and contaminant loading of the ion exchange columns. The PLC also controlled the regeneration functions, and the panel utilized a VFD to allow Variable Speed Pump Operation. This also accommodated the 50 Hz power available at this location.
Sirco designed and delivered a state-of-the-art water treatment and recycle system. SIRCO provided not only a closed-loop water treatment system, but also provide all environmental permits required. These included: AQMD- Air Quality Management District, CUPA- Certified Unified Program Agency, Tiered Permitting for Permit by Rule for DTSC.
